We made it to the top of Pulpit Rock!

In the summer of 2022, my husband and I set off on an unforgettable journey through Northern Europe—an epic vacation filled with beautiful sights, bucket-list adventures, and a bit of Disney magic.

We began with a quick stay in London before boarding an 11-night one-way Disney Cruise from Dover to Copenhagen. After the cruise, we spent four wonderful days exploring the colorful, culture-rich streets of Copenhagen. Each stop along the way had something special to offer, but one experience rose above the rest—hiking to Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) in Norway.

A Bucket-List Hike to Pulpit Rock

When I first booked this excursion, I knew I was in for a beautiful view. As a bit of a movie geek, I was also excited to visit the dramatic cliffside seen in the final scene of Mission: Impossible – Fallout. But I was completely unprepared for just how jaw-dropping the view would be in person. Towering nearly 2,000 feet above the Lysefjord, the panoramic scene from the top of Pulpit Rock is truly one of the most breathtaking I’ve ever experienced.

The Hike: Challenging, But Incredibly Rewarding

The hike up was no small feat—it took us about two hours to climb the rugged, rocky path to the top. It was one of the more physically demanding hikes I’ve ever done, but the journey itself was absolutely beautiful. Surrounded by Norway’s natural splendor and crisp mountain air, every step brought something new to admire.

After spending time soaking in the view (and capturing a few photos of our own!), we began the descent—tired, but beyond grateful for the experience.

Why It Belongs on Your Travel List

If you're planning a cruise through Northern Europe—or just visiting Norway—this hike is 100% worth considering. It’s a challenge, yes, but one that rewards you with unmatched scenery, brag-worthy memories, and a true sense of accomplishment.

This trip took place in 2022, but the memories are timeless—and I’m thrilled to share a few personal photos from the hike that still inspire me today.
